Huntsville, Ala. (WHNT) - It's a Memorial Day tradition in Huntsville that's going into its 34th year. It's the Cotton Row Run, where runners from all over the world traverse the streets of Huntsville hoping to beat out the rest of the pack.
This year's event is a little different. During the mile fun run, organizers will honor our local first responders. Co-organizer Suzanne Taylor came up with the idea after witnessing how first responders helped out during the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
"I was at Boston and I was there when the bombs went off and fortunately or unfortunately I was able to see them in action and it really had an impact on me and I wanted to come back and do something special for our local responders," said Suzanne Taylor.
