MADISON, Ala., (WHNT) – The Madison Police Department said a James Clemens student was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly making terrorist threats to the school earlier in the day.
The 15-year-old male student is accused of making a bomb threat.
At 1:32 p.m., James Clemens High School issued this email to parents:
Dear xxxx Family,Today due to a bomb threat we had to declare a Code Yellow at James Clemens High School. At the time of this Notify Me, all students and teachers have resumed a normal school day.Your Principal,Brian Clayton, Ed. D.
Police say the student, whose name is being withheld, called 911 to make a bomb threat to James Clemens High School. Officials recognized the caller from the 911 tapes.
The student was arrested and taken to the Neaves Davis Juvenile Detention Center.
If he is convicted, the teen’s punishment could include jail time, fines, and restitution.
