GRANT, Ala. (WHNT) – An 18-wheeler overturned in Marshall County Tuesday morning near Cathedral Caverns.

The truck turned on its side around 11 a.m. on Cathedral Caverns Parkway, about two miles up from Highway 431.  The road is currently closed from White Elephant Road to the scene of the wreck.

The driver was not seriously hurt.  An Alabama State Trooper on the scene said the man was walking and talking but complaining of back pain.  Paramedics treated him on the scene.

Troopers said the driver was heading down the mountain on Cathedral Caverns Parkway towards Highway 431 when truck went off road and turned over, dumping most of the chickens.

Some of the chickens were running around near the truck after the wreck.
