MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – As the school year winds down, a staff member at Discovery Middle School has been placed on administrative leave.
A parent emailed WHNT News 19 to ask us to check on the situation, saying the person works at Discovery. We contacted Dr. Dee Fowler, Superintendent of Madison City Schools. He did not address specifics.
“A staff member at Discovery Middle School has been placed on administrative leave suspected of breaking board policy,” said Dr. Fowler. “We are gathering data and will be conferring with our legal team.”
The person’s name has not been released. The parent said Discovery students found the staff member drinking wine inside the school on Wednesday.
