Road Closings & Flooding: Updated Information
TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT) – Water is covering several roads today. We will continue to update this list as new information comes in.
Water is over the roadway on Caldwell Lane near Highway 431. Please take an alternate route.
Flood warning issued for western Madison County until 2 p.m. Indian Creek near Madison is rising rapidly – at 10:15am, the stage was 6.7 feet and rising. Flood stage is 7.5 feet. Through midday another inch or more of rain will cause the creek to exceed flood stage.
Also, minor flooding is forecasted for the Flint River at Brownboro. The river is expected to rise above flood stage by early this evening and will crest near 17.5 feet by after midnight tonight. The river will fall below flood stage by tomorrow morning.
Arab – all streets and roads are open. Many roadways have standing water and rain runoff, though. Use caution in the area of Mount Oak Church Road near Lemon Tree Lane near the Lemon Tree Subdivision, due to water running across the road.
Guntersville & Grant: All city streets are open, but use caution if you come upon standing water or rain runoff.
The Paint Rock River is high and several roads are affected, including Butler Mill Road near Snead Road, which is barricaded. Mill Road is barricaded and Fish Trap Road at the Intersection of Butler Mill Road is barricaded.
Cathedral Caverns Road at the intersection of Babe Wright Road is barricaded due to water over the roadway and continued rising water.
Roads in the Butler Bottoms area which are affected by the Paint Rock River which will continue to be monitored. People living in and around this area should remain aware of the continued rising water in those commonly associated with the Paint Rock River flooding situation.
Albertville – city reports no closures at this time. Please use caution and drive slowly.
Boaz – Mount Vernon Road at the intersection of Willow Road remains barricaded due to water over the roadway. Needmore Road and White Oak Road intersection is now open but to continue to use caution in that area.
The bridge on Horton Road between Old Oneonta Road and Jolly Road has been barricaded due to water nearing the top of the Bridge
Claude Hill Road at Ross Raines Road remains barricaded due to water over the roadway.
