LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Students from Ardmore High School have been playing at a high level lately, and it’s not going unnoticed. The Ardmore band recently returned from St. Louis after competing and performing at the Heritage Music Festival.
The students ended up winning a gold award and second place overall in the competition. It was a great accomplishment for the small school since they were facing off with students from high schools all over the United States. Band Director Jamie Bowman told WHNT News 19 he is extremely proud of the students’ success.
“It’s a unique challenge,” said Bowman. “The kids have done really well the past two years that I’ve been here, they have stepped up especially this year and pushed their limits.”
Each band member received a special pin as a reminder of their accomplishment. A plaque will also be placed at the school in honor of the band’s achievements.
