Update: Pedestrian Killed Along Highway 157
LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal accident that happened on Highway 157 early Saturday morning.
Alabama State Troopers tell WHNT News 19 that 58-year-old Darrell Eric Doss was struck by a vehicle approximately 50 yards from the Colbert County line. It happened about 3:00 a.m. on Saturday. Troopers say Doss was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a 1999 Ford Contour being driven by Anthony Rainey of Madison.
Troopers say Rainey was not injured. Doss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
