Teenage Girl Dies In Wreck With 18-Wheeler, Sister Critically Hurt
LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A teenage girl died Tuesday morning in a wreck on Highway 157 west of Moulton.
The wreck involved an 18-wheeler and a car. The scene was near the intersection of Highway 101.
Alabama State Troopers say 17-year-old Caitlyn Martin, of Russellville, was driving the car. She died at the scene. Troopers say she was wearing her seat belt.
Her sister, 14-year-old Alison Martin, was a passenger and was seriously hurt. Alison was flown to Huntsville Hospital for treatment, and was listed in critical condition on Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck happened about 7:40 a.m. Troopers say Michael Clapsadl of Spencer, Virginia was driving the truck. He was not injured.
All four lanes of Highway 157 are open again to traffic.
