Wreck on Highway 72 Illustrates the Importance of Child Safety Restraints
LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – This next story demonstrates why young children should always be properly secured in a child restraint seat anytime they’re in a car.
This wreck happened earlier this afternoon on Highway 72 just west of Athens.
Witnesses tell WHNT News 19 the driver swerved to avoid hitting a dog, making her lose control of the car.
It ran off the road and flipped at least once. There were two infant children in the car. Both were in child restraint seats, and neither was hurt.
Their mother was shaken up, but she was in her seat belt and she, too, avoided serious injury.
All three were taken to Athens Limestone Hospital, but merely as a precaution.
