Huntsville School Officials Announce Informational Meeting About Changes Coming
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville City School Board President Laurie McCaulley announced there will be a very important meeting on May 6th for students and their parents, specifically in north Huntsville.
McCaulley made the comments after a specially called meeting of the school board Thursday morning.
She said school district officials plan to use the meeting at Johnson High School’s Auditorium to explain several changes in the works.
They include consolidating schools, the reasons behind those moves, and how that will improve the overall district.
“What we’re going to present to them is the aging of our buildings and the necessity of consolidating some schools and realigning student assignments,” McCaulley said. “So it will be very imperative for the citizens of Huntsville to come see what our numbers are, what our future growth plans are.”
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
McCaulley added parents will get details of a few things in the works that have not been released yet.
