Major Rush Hour Delays Due to Wreck in Meridianville

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A car and motorcycle collided Tuesday morning causing major delays for hundreds of people trying to travel into Huntsville.

The driver hit the railing at a bridge on U.S. Highway 231/431 in Meridianville.  The car then bounced back and hit a motorcycle and ended up sideways, blocking the highway.  The driver was taken to Huntsville Hospital.  Her condition is not known.  The motorcyclist was not injured.

Traffic in the southbound lanes was backed up for as far as two miles.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.
