It’s an important two week period for parents with kindergarten-age kids in the city of Madison.
Incoming kindergarten students in Madison City Schools face a deadline to register for the 2013-14 school year. Registration begins Monday, April 22, and ends May 3. Online forms are available now at www.madisoncity.k12.al.us under the registration link.
There are some eligibility requirements. Children entering kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013. A birth certificate, proper immunization records and other documents that are explained on the website will be required. Applicants will receive a list of schools along with the appropriate personnel and contact information, a supplies list, a 2013-14 school calendar, Open House dates and other pertinent information for kindergarten parents.
Note: Applications for all Madison City pre-K programs (First Class, Early Beginnings and HIPPY) will be available Monday online or at the Central Office at 211 Celtic Drive in Madison. Registration for students grades 1-12 who will be new to the district or transferring to schools within the Madison City Schools system won’t be until July 1.
