Olympic gold medalist Cullen Jones made a trip to Huntsville this week in hopes of spreading the word about water safety. Jones helped teach swim lessons to children at the Alabama A&M Health and Wellness center, and encouraged parents to get their kids in the water.
The cause is important to Jones because he was once almost a victim of drowning himself. At the age of 5, Jones' mother turned his near death experience into a positive by enrolling him in swim lessons. 20 years later, her son is a 4 time Olympic medalist in swimming.
