Huntsville, Ala. (WHNT) - Somehow the Huntsville Havoc went from a team 14 games below .500 to a group of guys just two wins away from the President's Cup.  To put the run in perspective, only twice has an NHL come back from a losing regular-season record to win the Stanley Cup.

In the SPHL playoffs, you only have to win three "best-of-three" series to hoist the cup.  The league also includes all but one team in its playoff structure.  The Huntsville Havoc may be dealing with extra criticism because of how they've reached this final series, but the team says they're using it as extra motivation.

Some teams would agree with longer series, things could've gone the other way," said Glenn Detulleo, Havoc head coach.  "But it is what it is, there's not much we can do about it but it's not like we got blown out every night, our record wasn't great, but we loss a lot of tight games."

Game one of the President's Cup series is at 7:05 Tuesday night against Pensacola.  If you want to watch the game, click here.  There will also be a viewing party at Hooter's on University Avenue in Huntsville.  Game two will happen at 7:30 PM Friday at the VBC.
