HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville City Schools will be accepting substitute teacher applications for the upcoming academic year beginning on April 15, 2013 through May 15, 2013.
Using a new hiring process, HCS Substitutes will be competitively selected via online application through the Alabama State Department of Education employment website.
This is presently the only anticipated open season that substitute teacher applications will be accepted. If more substitute teachers be needed, HCS may publish other hiring windows as needed in the future.
Selected applicants will be expected to sign a commitment to substitute at least three days per semester. Those who do not meet this requirement will be removed from the active roster of available substitutes and will be required to re-compete the following year.
