MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – You’ve heard of ‘Relay For Life,’ a major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Now, there’s a similar event where you can bring your dog.
‘Bark For Life’ is in its first year and honors the lifelong contributions of canine caregivers. You can learn more at Relayforlife.org/learn/relayforeveryone/barkforlife
A local ‘Bark For Life’ event will be held Sunday, April 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Discovery Middle School in Madison. The cost is $25 for owner and dog, and each additional dog is $15.
There will be an opening ceremony honoring all cancer survivors in attendance, including human and canine.
Other events include a costume contest and a ‘kissing booth’ manned with humans. For $1, dogs can kiss the person in the booth.
There will also be a Blessing of the Animals.
The Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF) will also be at Bark For Life with pets for adoption.
