TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) – The University of Alabama held a “Celebration of Life” in memory of former Crimson Tide Director of Athletics Mal Moore.

The ceremony, which was open to the public, was held at Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus.

It included speeches by University leaders, coaches and former players about their experiences with Moore, along with funny stories.

The ceremony ended with the song ‘Stars Fell on Alabama’.

Moore died March 30 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., just a few days after news came that he needed a lung transplant.  He was 73 years old.

Moore had just resigned as UA Athletics Director on March 20.
