UNA Baseball Gets 6-1 Win Over Alabama A&M

Normal, Ala. - Daymon Eriksen and Drew Mobley combined on a three-hitter as the University of North Alabama baseball team picked up its third straight win with a 6-1 decision over Alabama A&M.

UNA got single runs in the first, second and fourth innings for a 3-0 lead. The Lions then scored three more in the fifth for a 6-0 advantage. The Bulldogs got their lone run in the seventh.

With the win, UNA improved to 16-13 overall. 

The Lions got singles from Jake Ward and Josh Doyle to open the game and both moved up on a double-steal. Josh Cyr then drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

In the second inning Will Dennis walked and later scored on a throwing error by A&M to make it 2-0. In the fourth, Ward tripled and scored on a Doyle sacrifice fly.

Dylan Boston led off the fifth with a solo home run. Matthew Tittle and Bradley Noland both singled and Dennis drove in Tittle with a single to make it 5-0. Josh Carpenter then drove in the final run on a groundout. 

Eriksen (2-3) pitched seven complete innings, allowing just one run on two hits. He struckout nine. Mobley pitched the final two innings, allowing just one hit with three strikeouts. 

UNA hosts Union in a Gulf South Conference series on Friday (2 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.) at Mike Lane Field.
