Update: Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Investigating A Murder

FLINTVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) - Update: The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were on the scene of a murder Monday at a home on L Mitchell Road in Flintville.

Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder told WHNT News 19 that a utility worker called authorities on Monday afternoon and said they needed to conduct a welfare check at the residence.

"Once on the scene... deputies determined that there was a crime scene with at least one person deceased," said the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department in a press release.  "Inside the residence was one body that could not be identified and has been sent to the Tennessee Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death and to identify the body."

Lincoln County Sheriffs are looking for a red 1995 Ford Ranger with the TN license tag 421 SMV. The owner of the truck is wanted for questioning in connection with murder.

If the vehicle is sighted, contact the Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Dept. at 931-433-9821.  Police advise that any contact with the subject should be avoided.
