Teenager Dies After Shooting On Brenda Street; No Arrests Yet
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – An 18-year-old boy was found shot to death Wednesday morning. Huntsville Police are looking for suspects.
Investigators saw the young man’s body lying on the ground near a home on Brenda Street.
Police investigators told WHNT NEWS 19 they are not yet ready to release details about who they are looking for in the investigation. The teenager’s mother has information for police. She watched from her door as they investigated the shooting.
“I was in my bedroom in the bed and heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop and I jumped up,” said Mary Balogun.
Balogun knew someone was in danger. She didn’t know who, but had a feeling it was someone close to her. She ignored yellow police tape to find out who had been shot. Investigators turned her away.
“I want to know if that was my son up there. They say someone up there is dead and they won’t let me go see them. That is my son,” added Balogun.
Balogun left for a few minutes, but her emotions got the better of her. She went back through the police tape because she believed something that happened hours earlier was a good enough reason to talk with police.
Balogun heard knocks on her door the night before. She and another son saw two boys on her porch. The son saw a weapon.
“I called 911 and told the lady to please send the cops because two boys were out here on my porch with a gun,” added Balogun.
Our news partners at The Huntsville Times/al.com report police are looking for three suspects who left the scene in a gray Camry-type car.Submit Your Photo
