Sweet Pear Peterson

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – On Sunday,  Decatur Police Department arrested a man named Sweet Pear Peterson for allegedly vandalizing vehicles at Lynn Layton Chevrolet.

Approximately 28 new trucks were vandalized between the hours of 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Sunday. The initial report was filed and forwarded to the Decatur Police Departments Criminal Investigation Division.

On Monday, the Decatur Police Department received a call from Lynn Layton Chevrolet advising the suspect in the case, a man named Sweet Pear Peterson, was present at the dealership. When Decatur Police Units arrived, Peterson tried to run but officers caught him.

Peterson is charged with first-degree criminal mischief.  He was booked into the Decatur City Jail and will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
