Fishing Tourney For Military And First Responders April 19-20 At Ingalls Harbor

Decatur, Ala. - First responders, active military personnel, police officers, firefighters, reservists, and members of the National Guard are invited to participate in the fourth annual Homeland Security Bass Fishing Tournament set for April 19-20, 2013, at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur. In 2012, organizers added another day to the growing event allowing anglers to compete for prizes on Friday and Saturday. The no-entry fee tournament is limited to 200 boats and organizers are expected a full field.

On Friday, April 19th, the Big Bass Tournament takes place from 1 until 5 p.m. with a big fish winner each hour. Anglers can weigh in one fish per person each hour. On Saturday, approximately 200 two-man teams are expected to compete for the $1000 first place cash prize, additional places, and draw prizes. Participants may choose to compete one day or both days.

Ingalls Harbor, located at 802 Wilson Street NW in Decatur, will host the take-offs and weigh-ins. Check-in begins at 4 a.m. on Saturday and weigh-in will be held between 2 and 3 p.m. Food and beverages will be served to participants after the conclusion of each day’s event.

Held exclusively for personnel that fall under the category of Homeland Security, the no-entry fee tournament is sponsored by The Boathouse, Serra Toyota of Decatur, American Bass Anglers, Triton Boats, Ranger Boats, WDRM 102.1, Baron,  Lawler’s Barbeque, Pepsi of Decatur, Wendy’s, Sharp Communication, and GEICO.
