POSITION: Engineer Design Specialist

MONTHS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: FIVE (5) years of Engineering Design experience
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: US Citizenship. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
This position will work within a small, close-knit team, developing next-generation hardware and software (both embedded and non-embedded) for the test and evaluation of missile and aviation radio frequency communications systems. Support a wide variety of tasks, including analog and digital electronics design, board layout, and programming of Altera FPGAs in Verilog with Altera-based tools, development of non-embedded control and analysis software, and the design of RF components including Software Defined Radios, and interfacing with customers.
Experience in the concept definition, design, and integration of complex test systems geared towards aviation and missile test and evaluation. The candidate will have experience with electrical and electronics design in the digital and analog realms, designing automated test equipment, and with telemetry to include antenna auto-tracking systems, bit synchronization, and decommutation. Candidates will have knowledge in handling complex, mixed data streams consisting of video, audio, and digital data. Involvement with board design and layout is a must, as is with the development of firmware for Altera FPGAs in VHDL. Experience using Simulink, modulation waveforms to include Minimum-Shift Keying (MSK), Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (QPSK), and Offset Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (OQPSK) is also highly desired.
Knowledge in the development of software tools for handling, processing, and display of the data obtained by the above systems in real-time and post-test is highly desired. This position will include contact with customers, so the idea candidate will be able to convey highly complicated and technical content to various audiences.
