Huntsville Sports Commission To Host Baseball Weekend Tournament

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The City of Huntsville, Alabama, Huntsville Sports Commission and SportsMed will present a premier high school baseball tournament, March 15-16. Hosted by Grissom High School Baseball Booster Club, all games will be played at Joe Davis Stadium, Grissom High School, Huntsville High School and Madison Academy. Fourteen varsity teams from Alabama and Tennessee will compete in the two-day tournament.

Adam Moseley, head baseball coach of The Grissom High School Baseball team stated “We’re extremely excited to continue the yearly tradition of gathering in Huntsville the best talent in the area and around the region.  It gets better every year!”

With the help of the Huntsville Sports Commission and SportsMed, Grissom has hosted this tournament the past two years. Ralph Stone, Executive Director of the Huntsville Sports Commission states “Bringing top notch high school baseball to Huntsville is exciting for our baseball fans and showcasing the players’ talent is a great way to get exposure for athletes wanting to play at the next level”.

Ralph Stone sees this tournament as another way to make Huntsville a sports destination. “Once players and coaches experience playing in Huntsville they can’t wait to come back. Huntsville embraces its sporting events by providing great facilities and dedicated volunteers that work hard to make the visiting teams feel at home”.

The Huntsville Sports Commission is pleased to partner with SportsMed in presenting this outstanding baseball tournament.  The tournament begins Friday March 15 and continues through the Saturday march 16th.
