Family and Friends Remember Lauderdale County Fire Victims
LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Family and friends gathered at the scene of a fatal fire and describe the couple who died in the fire as inseparable. They had been married for 37 years, but only lived in this home for the past two years.
Investigators believe the elderly husband and wife who died in the fire to be Bobby and Sandy Brewer, both 68 years old.
Family members also say the Brewers nephew, Bradley Adams was inside the home when the fire sparked.
“It is tragic because it looks like the one at the back door may have tried to get out and this is a close-knit community, there’s a lot of family members out here this morning waiting to find out if their loved ones were in the house,” said Lauderdale County investigator Richard Richey.
Fire investigators searched through rubble and debris for hours, hoping for survivors.
“You feel for the family and their loss, it’s a job we have to do,” said Richey.
Family members say the Brewers had two grandchildren and two great grandchildren who visited often. Bradley Adams leaves behind a 10-year-old son.
Autopsies will be performed on all three victims. Morrison Funeral Home in Central Heights will handle arrangements.
