HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - This is your lucky week because it's the one leading up to St. Patrick's Day!

WHNT NEWS 19 found some places around town offering some lucky deals, although not quite as many as last year.

Just a reminder, the holiday falls on a Sunday this year--a holy day--so lots of celebrations will be Saturday, including the biggest and best freebie around for you: the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Huntsville.  It's a big deal for the Bollingers of South Huntsville.

They have an Irish flag flying outside their home in Huntsville.  That's just the beginning of their enthusiasm for St. Patrick's Day.

Michael and Lisa are proud Irish Americans and so devoted to their heritage they have a pub in their home.

"We're in the Maggie McGuinness Pub, a private Irish pub in Southeast Huntsville," said Michael Bollinger.

They've been gearing up for the holiday since mid-February and organizing the 36th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, set to begin at 11:30 in downtown Huntsville on Saturday, March 16th.

"It is free to be in the parade, it is free to come watch the parade," said Lisa Bollinger.  "They get beads and candy and coupons and fliers."

If you need help getting ready, you'll find beads and necklaces, hats, glow sticks -- even moustaches -- for less than a dollar and party favors for three cents a piece at two locations of Party City in Huntsville.

Online, is offering an MP3 Celtic Music sampler download for free as well as a recipe sampler.  Both are usually 99 cents and are free for a limited time.

And you can put a little irish on your computer desktop with a couple of free lucky green wallpaper designs.  We found them here in three different sizes.

It's worth noting that several freebie deals offered last year -- including free paint from a hardware store to free french fries and green ketchup at a popular fast food chain -- were off the table this year.

The pubs around town have various discounts on beers.
