Madison Police Officer William Watson Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Abuse

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Former Madison Police officer William Watson pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual abuse.

On August 13, 2012, investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office alerted Madison Police about the case, who immediately put Watson on administrative leave.

Captain Stanley McNatt with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said the victim in the case is a juvenile female.  He said there could be more victims, and more charges could come after the grand jury reviews the case.

McNatt did not go into more specifics.

The case is set for trial on April 29, 2013 at 9:00 A.M.

Watson is no longer a member of the police force, having resigned his post during the official investigation.
