Homewood, Ala. (WHNT) – The Gulf South Conference has had to go through a lot of changes.  Several Arkansas schools left the league almost in unison while UNA is considering a jump to Division I.

At the same time, the GSC is gaining members like Shorter and Union, while also giving some schools, like West Florida, a chance to create their own football programs.  They are also looking into adding other sports to create a more sound structure within the conference.

GSC Commissioner Nate Salant spoke to WHNT News 19 about the state of the league and why he feels, despite all of these changes, the GSC will continue to get stronger in a lot of ways.
