Havoc Loses To RiverKings 4-1

Huntsville, Ala. - Mississippi RiverKings relied on the sparkling performance of Matthew Krahn in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Huntsville Havoc.

Huntsville’s power play was ineffective against Mississippi RiverKings’ penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Kyle Lundale, who had one goal. Lundale scored 1:23 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Mississippi RiverKings.  Mike MacDonald picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Huntsville power plays. Mississippi RiverKings got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. With 37 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 18.4 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Henry Coxe, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Darrell Stoddard, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tom Craig, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Kevin Willer, who had one.

The Havoc stifled Mississippi RiverKings’ power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 32 shots that Huntsville put on net surpassed the Havoc’s average of 21.0 shots per game this season.

Huntsville was led by Paul DAgostino, who scored the team’s only goal. DAgostino scored 11:04 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Mississippi RiverKings.  Aaron McGill assisted on the tally.

Mississippi RiverKings’ Krahn stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. Dan McWhinney made 33 saves for the Havoc on 37 shots. Huntsville ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
