McCarron Played Final 6 Games With Rib Injury
Alabama Quarterback A.J. McCarron admitted in an interview with ESPN that he played the final six games of the 2012 season with an injury to his ribs.
“I had three ribs come out of place,” McCarron told ESPN.com. “They kept popping in and out of place, the one at the top, and it was just a nagging pain the whole time. I couldn’t throw much during the week for a long time, really almost up to the bowl game. I was hurting really bad through the week, and it just took a long time for those ribs to heal.”
The injury took place in the 3rd quarter against Mississippi State, a game Alabama won 38-7. Over the final six games, McCarron completed 89-of-137 passes for 1,249 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions.
