SHEFFIELD, Ala. (WHNT) - Sheffield Police say two of three people wanted in a recent home invasion/murder are in custody.
The victim, Dorian Hamilton, was killed in his home on Sterling Boulevard on Friday, February 22. Police believe the suspects targeted the home to steal drugs.
Damien Deandre Shipley is charged with capital murder. He was already in the Muscle Shoals City Jail for a traffic warrant.
Donte Montgomery turned himself into police on Tuesday evening. Police are still looking for Fernando Arvel King. If you know where King is or have any information about him, please call Sheffield Police at (256) 383-1771 or leave an anonymous tip on the Shoals Area Crime Stoppers tipline at (256) 386-8685.
Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray said officers found a large amount of drugs inside Hamilton's home following his death.
"We put in a lot of man-hours not only from the investigation division. We've had patrol officers chipping in also, we've had the public chipping in, in fact tips from Crime Stoppers," said Greg Ray. "It's been tough. It's an arduous task."
Police say they recovered a gun they believe Shipley used in the shooting, along with a ski mask and clothing worn during the home invasion.
According to investigators, Shipley gave a statement to police connecting himself to the murder.
Chief Ray urges King to turn himself in for his own safety and the safety of the public. However, Chief Ray warns people that King is considered dangerous.
Investigators have also questioned a woman in this case who they believe may have driven the getaway car from the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed against that woman.
