MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison Fire investigators are working to find the cause of a blaze that broke out late Thursday night.
It was just before midnight when a home alarm went off on Gordon Drive and notified Madison Fire and Rescue personnel.
The home on fire was located in 100 block of Gordon Drive, just off of Sullivan Street.
When crews arrived on the scene, they could see flames coming from a back room of the house.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames in about 15 minutes.
But by that time, the flames had already done major damage to the home, including fire damage to one room, and heavy smoke damage throughout the house.
Neighbors say a father and son live in the home and have been displaced until repairs can be made.
Authorities blocked off Gordon Drive for more than an hour while firefighters were on scene.
