FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) visited Forest Hills School in Florence on Wednesday.
WHNT News 19 spoke with him about the economy and upcoming sequestration deadline, March 1.
“We are in terrible shape financially. We’re all in terrible shape financially, but it doesn’t need to fall all on defense, and all on schools,” said Sen. Sessions. “Over half of the budget is not receiving any cuts, so we really need to spread this out and get on a sound path. We cannot continue on the path we’re on financially. It’s just an unsustainable course, and over a period of time, it’s going to result in fiscal disaster for us.”
