ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – A judge has taken the bond hearing for Joel Moyers, who is charged with capital murder in the death of Brandon Hydrick, under advisement.
He says he will make a decision in the next 24 hours.
Prosecutors are asking a judge to deny bond for Moyers.
Moyers’ bond hearing is underway this afternoon at the Limestone County Courthouse. Bond hearings usually don’t take more than 10 or 15 minutes, but prosecutors are presenting evidence and calling a handful of witnesses to testify.
They also played the 911 call the victim’s brother, Ryan Hydrick made after the shooting.
Brandon Hydrick was shot September 29, 2012 after he and his brother left a bonfire Brandon’s girlfriend had hosted.
WHNT News 19 is at the bond hearing. We’ll update you when the judge makes a decision.
