Lacey’s Spring Man Charged With Manslaughter In Wife’s Death

LACEY'S SPRING, Ala. (WHNT) - A man arrested Thursday in his wife's death has been charged with manslaughter.  Rodney David Hagood is being held in the Morgan County Jail.

Sheriff Ana Franklin said Hagood, 46, could have bond set later Friday, and his charge could be upgraded once forensic examiners perform an autopsy.

Hagood's wife, Stacey Hagood, was found dead Thursday morning in the couple's home at 496 River Loop Road.

Investigators have obtained search warrants to continue their search of the home as the look for more specific evidence that may be connected to the woman's death.  They are also searching Rodney Hagood's vehicle.

The couple had a history of domestic violence, and sheriff's deputies had been called to the home several times.  The most recent call was on Tuesday, February 12.

Stacey Hagood was 49 years old.  Thursday, Valentine's Day, was the couple's wedding anniversary.

Sheriff Franklin hasn't said yet how yet how Stacey Hagood died. She said an autopsy will help confirm the cause of death.
