A certificate of need hearing for a proposed new hospital in the Shoals is entering its second week.

RegionalCare Hospital Partners wants to build a new 300-bed hospital and cancer center.

RegionalCare owns Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.

The company is using the hearing to present their case to an administrative law judge, who will present his opinion to the state.

The hearing is being held at the Shoals Marriott Conference Center.
