BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – The American Red Cross Alabama Region is hard at work helping those affected by Sunday’s tornadoes and severe weather.

Red Cross volunteers are assessing the damage in the affected areas of Clarke and Washington Counties and will provide assistance as needed and requested from other agencies responding.

The Red Cross office building in Hattiesburg was heavily damaged by a tornado Sunday and is inoperable.  Alabama Red Cross staff member, Oscar Barnes is set to deploy to Mississippi to help organize efforts there.
