COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – After 41 years of service, the Muscle Shoals Fire Chief has hung up his turnouts for the last time.

Muscle Shoals Fire Chief Paul McDougle has retired from the department where he started working as a firefighter in 1972.  He has served as fire chief since 2002. 

In Monday night’s city council meeting, Assistant Fire Chief Tim McMullins was named fire chief for the department.

McMullins has been with the Muscle Shoals Fire Department for more than 20 years.
