Job Description: The selected candidate will be a member of a team providing hardware and software development and test support to the AMRDEC Software Engineering Directorate (SED). Candidate will be required to perform a variety of engineering tasks, either independently or under supervision, which are broad in nature and related to the design and implementation of special purpose electronic hardware and related software for Army launcher and rocket systems.
Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications. Responsible for major technical/engineering projects of higher complexity and importance than those normally assigned to lower level engineers. May coordinate the activities of engineers and technicians assigned to specific engineering projects.
Education Requirement: The candidate must have Bachelors degree or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience. An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering is desired to support specific embedded systems design assignments directly related to the proposed area of responsibility. (4 additional years of experience may be in lieu of degree)
Required Skills: Relevant experience in the following areas: embedded hardware and software design for 8/6/32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors, CPLD and FPGA logic development, schematic capture, C/C++ software development for realtime and non-realtime operating systems (Windows, Linux, VxWorks), and working knowledge of networking and communications protocols. Some ADA experience would be a plus. The candidate MUST be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within 90 days of commencement of employment.
