HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)– Some tense moments on board an American Eagle flight en route to Huntsville from Chicago after reports of smoke in the cabin prompted an emergency landing in Evansville, IN.
According to airport officials in Evansville they received the emergency call from the pilots inside flight 4245 for the landing at about 11:20 Thursday morning.
The plane landed safely at the airport. American Airlines officials say their maintenance crews are working to find a source.
Our CNN affiliate in Evansville reported the American Airlines flight was a regional jet with 12 people on board at the time of the incident.
