Two Arrested In Decatur Meth Bust

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Two people were taken into custody by Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies Wednesday evening after illegal drugs were discovered in their home.

Investigators tell WHNT News 19 a Morgan County deputy went to 2308 Rosemont Dr. SE Wednesday afternoon to serve a paper. The investigator says as soon as the door was opened, he could smell the chemicals used in the illegal production of meth, and could also see illegal paraphernalia inside the home. The deputy notified members of the county’s Drug Task Force, who obtained a search warrant for the home.

Inside, investigators discovered an undisclosed quantity of illegal drugs, meth, and drug paraphernalia.

Christopher Shawn Russell and Amber Nicole Russell were arrested and charged with 1st degree unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance – meth. A bond amount for the pair was not disclosed.
