Decatur Police Charge Man with Capital Murder After Infant’s Death
Orlandos Zeonette Deloney
DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Investigators say the boyfriend of a baby’s mother is accused of hurting an 8-month-old child. Those injuries have been determined as the reason the child died.
Orlandos Zeonette Deloney, 21, called 911 saying the baby had fallen off a bed and wasn’t breathing. When paramedics arrived, a family member was performing CPR on the baby. Paramedics rushed the child to Decatur General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The child’s mother was at Decatur General with another child when this happened.
The initial results of an autopsy showed the injuries were not accidental, and the baby’s death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators determined Deloney inflicted the baby’s injuries, causing his death.
Deloney is being held in the Morgan County Jail. Bond has not been set.
