LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A 100-year-old locally historic bridge in the Shoals is almost gone.
For the last week, crews have worked at disassembling ‘Ghost Bridge’ and the work is almost complete. The Lauderdale County Commission decided to have the bridge torn down due to safety concerns.
Concrete pilings on the north and south shores are the only visible signs left of the bridge. Work crews expect to be done by the end of the week.
The area remains closed to the public.
