Madison Band Director’s Attorney Wants Trial Delayed
MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Discovery Middle School Band Director John Nash is scheduled to go before Judge Linda Coats for a bench trial Friday.
His attorney, James Brice Callaway, wants that trial delayed.
Callaway filed a motion for continuance just after 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Nash currently faces charges of failure to report child abuse, as police say he was aware of an alleged relationship happening between his 24-year-old son, and band volunteer, Bradley Nash and a 15-year-old student.
John Nash is currently on administrative leave from Madison City Schools as a result of the investigation.
24-year-old John “Bradley” Nash is charged with possession of child pornography and electronic solicitation of a child.
The trial is currently scheduled for Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Madison County Courthouse.
