FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - For week’s investigators worked to find the identity of a man who assaulted and robbed woman in the parking lot of WalMart in Florence.

Just over a week ago, authorities got the tip they needed and the man-hunt was on.

Thursday morning, Detective Justin Wright says Xavier Cole’s luck ran out.

An anonymous tip to police dispatch sent detectives to Cole’s exact location.

“We responded immediately,” said Detective Wright. “And found him there and took him into custody without incident.”

Detective Wright says he’s grateful for the public’s help in solving this case.

He says the victim is glad to have peace of mind knowing that her attacker is behind bars.

“We were able to bring justice to a victim that was involved in a horrific robbery, ran over by a car, and drug several feet,” Wright said.

Xavier Cole is charged with Robbery and Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle.

Cole is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a bail of fifty-one thousand dollars.

According to police, the female driver of the get-away car could also be facing possible charges.
