Experience in electronic hardware design, production, and troubleshooting.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: US Citizen. Able to obtain Security Clearance. Support missile and aviation Automated Test Equipment development and modernization efforts which support component and system level tests. Work as part of an integrated team comprised of personnel of various disciplines (electrical, electronics, electro-optical, mechanical, hardware, software, and systems). Must have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully develop requirements and specifications for an analog and digital electronics design; must have prepared for, presented and explained a candidate design for a formal Preliminary Design Review; must have developed a design for production and successfully passed a formal Critical Design Review; must have demonstrated KSAs to develop and implement requirement and specification verification test plans and document the results. The work to be performed will primarily be in the area of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) modernization programs. Various groups engaged in both laboratory and field testing of aviation and missile electronics testing will be supported; therefore, an ability to support a variety of technical teams and team members is essential to successful performance of the work. KSAs in particular technical areas are expected and should be reflected in the candidate’s application. Expected experience includes: Experience with schematic capture, reading, and creation as well as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout (Altium (CAE design) a plus). Analog and digital circuit design experience including high speed data buses (serial and parallel) designs. Firmware electronics design, implementation, and verification including Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and/or Configurable Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) selection and integration to meet design specifications and requirements. Firmware programming development including FPGA tools, programming, configuration management and requirements tracing. Experience using troubleshooting equipment (digital or analog oscilloscopes, meters, analyzers, etc.) Ability to effectively work with a team containing personnel of various disciplines (mechanical, hardware, software, systems, technicians, engineers, logisticians, etc.) Ability to multitask, follow instructions the first time they are given, and change tasks with short notice are a must. KSAs in the following technical areas are highly desired and should be reflected in the candidate’s application. Highly desired experience includes: Experience with motion control systems (controllers, motors, control loop tuning). Experience with HDL – AHDL and Verilog for FPGAs and CPLDs. Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and system problems sometimes involving software, hardware, or firmware. Experience working with optical systems (especially infrared). Knowledge and experience working with various standard and military cables.
