Families Displaced After Decatur Apartment Fire
DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) - Six families are without a place to call home Wednesday morning after a fire at a Decatur apartment complex.
Flames started around 9:30 Tuesday night at “The Mark II Inn.”
That’s at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Seventh Street.
Several Decatur fire department units responded to the scene.
Authorities say three apartments were heavily damaged.
They say the fire appears to have started in a lower back bedroom of an apartment unit on the first floor.
The flames then spread upward into the upstairs and attic.
