HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Tennessee Valley Authority expects lower power bills for February.

They say increased rainfall leads to more hydroelectricity created by power-generating dams.  That in turn, allows the TVA to avoid more expensive means of generating power.

We contacted Huntsville Utilities to discuss the cheaper power with them.

They confirm it’s part of TVA’s Fuel Cost Adjustment.

They say milder winter temperatures also play into the lower costs.  However, they don’t have a specific figure for how much lower your February bill might be.

The TVA estimates the average customer may see a drop of around three dollars.
