30 Years Ago, George Wallace Takes Oath for the Fourth and Final Time
It was three decades ago this week that former Alabama Governor George C. Wallace took the oath of office for the fourth and final time as Alabama’s Governor. Wallace was first elected in 1962 on a strong stance of segregation. However, by his final election 1982, he won with a strong majority of African-American voters.
