GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – For more than twenty years now, Lake Guntersville State Park has been offering programs and guided field trips as part of their Eagle Awareness Weekends.
Their Eagle Awareness Weekends begin the 1st weekend in January and go through the 3rd weekend in February.
One of the trips they take is to the Town Creek Fishing Center. Here they watch the eagles fly out in the morning as they look to find their favorite fishing spots.
A park naturalist, Patti Donnella says this is a way to continue recovering, and restoring the Bald Eagle population in Alabama.
